RTI cannot be used to question judicial orders

Applicant had filed a RTI application for seeking reasons for a judicial officer having passed a certain order.

The Andhra Pradesh HC ruled that under RTI there was no need to provide reasons fro a particular judicial order or judgment since they had t be reasoned and judicial decisions were not covered under RTI.

This order of the AP HC was later challenged in the SC and SC also upheld the same order.
