Need Help: Can passport officer stop my passport -- Passport Delayed since 2nd June 2011

Dear Sir

With reference to letter No: H008000/11 – Policy dated 03.06.2011 which i received from the Passport Officer Jaipur on 04.06.2011

I would like to bring in your notice some points:

Sir I went to Passport office Jaipur to submit my Son passport application with old passport which expired. The officer who was taking the application form asked my passport for verification and instead of cancel my son passport, he cancel my passport.

I showed this to Regional Passport Officer Shri S.K. Verma and he asked me to apply for the additional booklet of passport

Sir i applied for the additional booklet of passport in Tatkal scheme and received the passport on 01.06.2011.

Next day on 2nd June 11, I got a Telephone call from the passport office to bring my passport to the office, i went and they asked me to handover my passport as Passport officer has left the office by that time. No one told me the reason for this.

On 3rd June 2011, i received a speed post letter from the Passport Office Jaipur which shows that they received a letter from my Previous company ONGC Ltd that i am absconding from my duty since 10.11.2009. Passport office asked me to submit passport which i have already submitted on receiving telephone call from passport officer before i received this letter.

I replied and submitted all the papers (Attached) personally on 16th June 2011 to the passport officer and explain him that i am not absconding from the company and i am in communication with the company since 10th Nov2009. I have already submitted my application for Voluntary Retirement on medical ground on 24.06.2010 for which company never replied. ONGC send a letter to me asking to come for Medical board on 30th March 2011 which i attended and Doctors report is attached. Then how the company is saying that i am absconding since 10.11.2009. Even when I didn’t receive any information regarding my Voluntary Retirement, I submitted my resignation to G.M ( HR-ER ) Mumbai on 14.06.2011.

Sir My passport is not issued to me till date, i met passport officer many times but now he is saying that my case is sent to MEA to Chief passport officer at Delhi.
Can you adviced me what should i do ? I am going to file RTI today but wanted to take your advice before filing RTI at Jaipur. Should i file another RTI at Delhi ??

Please do not start multiple threads on the same topic/subject.

If you know the reference number of the letter under which the matter was referred to CPO in Delhi, then file a RTI application only with Delhi.

Otherwise, you need to file a RTI application with RPO Jaipur and get the reference number of the letter.

Mr. Rajesh,
I'm afraid, as your Central government employer, ONGC has aleady informed the Passport authorities regarding your absence from the duty, Secondly, your regination/Voluntary retirment is not accepted by competant authority of ONGC. Hence you are duty bound to serve them till such acceptance.
I think you should immediately rish to GM-HR/ER, ONGC, Mumbai either to take back the letter which they have issued to passport authorities or make them accept ur resignation.
Now, ur at their mercy.
