Right to Service Bill
Please find attached a draft of the THE RIGHT OF CITIZENS FOR THE TIME
BOUND DELIVERY OF GOODS & SERVICES & REDRESSAL OF THEIR
GRIEVANCES BILL, 2011, as laid in Parliament.
Also attached is a Press Advertisement calling for comments/memoranda.
Please respond early, on or before 26th Feb.
Responses to be sent in duplicate, typed in double space and
responders may also indicate if they wish to be appear in person
before the Committee.
Friends, this Bill is going to be as important as the RTI Act 2005.
As our combined experience with the RTI Act has shown in the
past 5 years, there are several issues which we all find to be bottlenecks
in the implementation of the RTI Act - in true letter and spirit.
This is therefore the right time to study this bill carefully and give our
views on each and every section - so that 5 years down the line we do
not regret about having a Bill which has severe constraints and is badly drafted.
I once again request you to please study the Bill carefully and send your
feedback before 26th February 2012 to the address indicated in the
advertisement below.
