    Poor Road Conditions

    Hello,

I just wanted to find out some more details on filing RTI requests.

I live in Nizampet Road. There are a host of problems with respect to roads (or the lack of them thereof), open drains, leaking water pipes and no footpaths. The traffic lights on the main roads also never work. The problems have been there for more than an year now. I would like to have GHMC's attention to these problems.

Can you please help me with the following:
    (1) How to exactly file the application - where to pay the fee, how to file etc?
    (2) Is there an online way of doing it?
    (3) How do I find out who is the right person to address these requests?

    Thanks,
    Murali.

    Re: Poor Road Conditions

    Murali,

You posted your post in another thread about roads and street lights in Whitefields area. I have separated it and started a new thread.

    1. Your RTI application to GHMC has to be as per the AP RTI rules and fees. These are available in the Guide segment of the forum. Please see:

    RTI Guide

The guide segment also has a lot of information about drafting a RTI application, fees, mode of payment, how to submit, etc. Please spend some time browsing around that section.

    2. Please also see some of the links on the home page under the "All about RTI" icon.

    3. There is no online mechanism for filing RTI Application. Technically you can file your RTI application by email but this has to be followed up by making the payment of fees by snail mail. You might as well you the traditional methods.

    4. Your RTI Application needs to be addressed to the State Public Information Officer (SPIO or PIO). The details of SPIO in GHMC are given at:

    http://www.ghmc.gov.in/includes/rti2.pdf

    5. Please also use the search facility on the forum and search for "street light" and "road" or something similar and you will get many threads which will be of help to you in drafting a suitable application. You can also use the applications attached in the "Whitefields" thread as a reference.

Some threads of use to you:
