Reinstate of my name in the voter list.

This is the case of mine wherein my name in the voterlist was deleted without any procedure followed. So I could not vote for 2009 Assembly election of Maharashtra. Soon after the elections, for the past two years, I used the powerful tool i.e. RTI Act, 2005 to bring the culprits who have deleted. I wrote several letters and applied RTI Act to Electoral Registration Officer, Deputy Collector (Elections) and to the Chief Electoral Officer, Govt of Maharashtra and pointed out the discrepancy.

To my surprise, My name resurfaced in the 2012 voterlist and I could vote in MCGM election held recently. Again the necessary procedures are not followed while my name is reinstated in the voterlist.

The GAD, Govt of Maharashtra is in dilemma how and where to start the inquiry:
1) How my name is deleted without giving proper notice to me?
2) How my name is reinstated after deletion without filling up the FORM 6 (New Addition)?

This success goes to the RTI Act and the RTI team in this forum who have helped me whenever I got struck in any queries. I once again thank the RTI team from my bottom of my heart.

Good job, bring this attention to electronic media and let the citizens of India know about this. Still am not aware of the procedure to remove name from the voter list. In every election at least 5% to 15% names will be removed from the voter list.

You know why your name will be removed? One of my friends work for “X” political party and he informed that, if the ruling party realize that they will not get any vote from particular community, then they will do this kind of tricks. This is purely intentional and ignorance.

I advise, we have to make this very big issue. ever one who is playing these tricks should know.
