Central Info Commission to prepare pending list of cases as on 29 Feb 2012
In its meeting held on 13 Mar 2012, the CIc has decided that each registry will prepare a pending list of cases as on 29 Feb 2012 and present it before the commission on 15 April 2012.

Agenda-1: Statement on the Registration/Disposal of cases during January,
2012.
The Commission directed that each registry will certify that all Daks relating
to the appeal and complaints received till 29th February 2012 and worth registration
as per Central Information Commission, (Appeal Procedure) Rules have been
registered and no such matter is pending with them. The registries would then
prepare a list of pending cases with them as on 1st March 2012. The Commission
directed that such a list would be presented before the Commission it its meeting
scheduled after 15th April 2012.

Though registry of few ICs (only Chief IC, IC-AD & SG) have declared the list of pending cases, none have declared the pending list of Diaries.
Once registered, they shall be heard.
But, Diaries relating to complaints are being pushed to oblivion. Along with registered cases, every Complainant/Appellant has a right to know about the fate of 'entered Diaries'. So, Pending list of Diaries must be published to avoid related RTI files to know their doom/destiny.
Exercise your Right To get Information by holding Govt. accountable to the governed.

Hon'ble members. In view of your friend, this can be considered as positive step of transparency panel in regard to establish faith of common people in the CIC. Here ipsofacto obvious that situation is not out of order as like SICs that is why commission is trying to restore the derailed track. My suggestion is that if CIC really wants to reduce the backlog of cases, then it will have to consider seriously the violation of subsection 1 of section 7 of transparency act. CIC must issue the guidelines regarding the processing of F.A. to F.A.A.

From the above MoMeeting it looks as if the pendency in the CIC as on 29 Feb 2012 is only 17786.
However, the Monthly disposal/Receipts figures, as available on the CIC website state 26574 pending as on 31 Jan 2012.

Which figure is correct ? What happened to the balance 9000 ?
