Sir, I give application unde RTI in Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation, AMTS.but after 30days i am not received reply from department. Now told me sir if i am a third party so when department give a reply to me? In 30days or a 40days.? and also told a meaning of life and liberty. Thanking you Kaushik Soni      |

Third party is someone who is not related either to the information seeker or the public authority. You cannot be a third party yourself when you have applied for information. If the information is related to a third party you will get it in 40 days otherwise in 30 days. In either case add 5 days extra to accommodate postal delays. If you do not get information within the time limit, file a first appeal for denial of information. Information relating to matters which affects life and liberty of a person is to be given within 48 hours. For your information, the time is reckoned from the date on which the PIO received the application. |

If U have not received the reply in 30 days go for first appeal immediatly and also pray for supply of documents free of cost . As now you will get documents free of cost. |
