Details of appointments and educational certificates of teachers in aided schools/colleges are disclosable

Applicant asked for Appointment details and Educational qualification certificates of teachers in a intermediate college, through the District Education Officer. The College refused to give information stating that it was not a Public Authority under the RTI Act and that such information can be denied under Sec 8(1)(j) of the RTI Act.Applicant filed a writ inm the High Court and the court ruled that aided colleges are under the purview of the RTI Act and that such information has to be disclosed.
