Furnish file notes: Information Commission <TABLE width="100%" bgColor=#d0f0ff border=0><TBODY><TR><TD>Bench also directs Panchayat Raj offcials to send compliance report </TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE> HYDERABAD: A division bench of the A.P. Information Commission on Wednesday directed the officers of the Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Department, Secretariat, to supply forthwith to O. D. Sharma the copies of the note files for compassionate appointment of his son forthwith after the request was rejected by the principal information officer of the department. The bench also directed them to send to the commission a compliance report immediately. According to a press note issued by R.Dileep Reddy, State Information Commissioner, Mr. Sharma preferred an appeal before the commission due to non-furnishing of the note files by the PIO and first Appellate Authority of the PR and RD department. The note said that while deciding the second appeal, the Division Bench consisting of C. D. Arha, Chief Information and Mr. Reddy, is of the considered view that the note files which have been sent for the final decision of the Cabinet (and decision yet to be taken) only are exempt under Section 8 (1) of the RTI Act, 2005 and “the contention of the respondent that all the note files need not be furnished is untenable”. Mr. Sharma retired on account of medical invalidation. The Hindu : Andhra Pradesh / Hyderabad News : Furnish file notes: Information Commission |
