Compensation awarded by State consumer disputes commission Ludhiana to Ex Army officer on harassment caused by PSEB
Sir
I am retired Army officer living at 192 C Rajguru Nagar Ludhiana. My tenant was hand in glove with PSEB and never paid any bills. I requested many times PSEB that either they issue the proper bill or disconnect power as no bills were being paid. My tenant with the help of some PSEB officials got the case transferred to dispute settlement committee to avoid payment without any dispute. With the active help of PSEB the case remained decided for month so that payment can be avoided.
After the tenant left the PSEB immediately issued a inflated bill of 9258 for 1056 units. I requested many time for clarification but none was provided. Finally I had to seek the information under RTI act which was also not provided for months rather connection was disconnected.
Finally PSEB provided correct information or orders of state information commission and admitted that actual bill was 5334 only.
I remained without any power for three months and suffered harassment and moved the sate consumer court in the case
Finally the state consumer disputes forum accepted my plea and awarded be a compassion of rs 5000/-and cost of litigation in their judgment dated 16 Julu 10(copy of order enclosed please)
Sir due to corrupt practices of some officials of the board the board not only losses revenue but consumers also face harassment.
