PIO tendered apology & the PSIC waived off the penalty imposed upon the PIO.
The Orders of the PSIC are as below :
After hearing the submissions made by the parties and going through the reply filed by the respondent, it has been observed that the requisite information has been provided to the complainant. The amount of compensation has also been paid. As regards, the amount of penalty imposed upon the PIO vide order dated15.02.2012, PIO has tendered apology and explained about non-compliance of the directions of the Commission. Keeping in view the facts and circumstances of the case, the order whereby penalty was imposed upon the PIO is modified to that extent. However, the PIO is warned to be careful infuture in dealing with the RTI applications promptly and providing the requisite information to the complainants within the prescribed period.
3 Case stands disposed of and is closedwith the above observations.
