I bought a flat in chennai earlier this year. It was registered in a sub-registrar's office in chennai. We submitted the original sale deed to the bank from which we took the mortgage (through a broker). Some how the original sale deed got lost on its way to the bank. I have two questions. 1. Could the original sale deed of the flat be misused if it gets into some wrong hands? 2. What do I do if I want to sell my property? Any buyer would first ask for the original sale deed. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.     |
