Need land record info
Hello Experts,
I need to get land records from Kashmir division under J&K RTI act 2005. I know there is a specific form (form I) which I am supposed to fill and send to the concerned authority.
Now my questions are :
1) Who should I send the form to?
2) Who should I address it to ( as in how do I know which is the concerned department and PIO for land records queries)?
3) What are the supporting documents needed?
4) Processing fee of 50Rs is to be paid. Can I pay it through a nomal bank cheque? If yes, who should I address it to? Should I send the cheque along with the form I or separately?
5) Can I send the query through mail ( or e-mail) or do I have to be present personally?
Any help is highly appriciated!
Regards,
AM

Re: Need land record info
You location says "Mumbai", hence that answer.
1. Please read: J&K RTI Act 2009 and RTI Rules 2010 - Guide
There are some attachments to the above.
Read those also.
Also visit: State Information Commission
2. Application to be sent to the PIO of the office which holds land records.
In other State , it is generally the Revenue department (Tehsildar, Patwari, etc.)
See here: First Appellate Authorities* and
OR call up the JKSIC and ask: http://jksic.nic.in/Pages/Address.htm
Also read: CS for comprehensive management of land records Lastupdate:- Wed, 15 Feb 2012 18:30:00 GMT GreaterKashmir.com
3. No supporting documents needed. Just the application asking for copies or records and the application fee.
4. Mode of payment of fees is given in the RTI Rules (see link in Item No. 1 above)
5. Better to send by Speed Post. Track the speed post on the India Post website and when it is delivered, take a printout. That will be your proof of delivery.

Re: Need land record info
hi,
It has been a month since the RTI application which I sent to revenue department ( PIO/Tehsildar) was received by them (tracked the speed post by Post office website. I did not get any response from them. What should be the future course of action. What exactly needs to be sent to the First appelate authority.
