RTI fees hiking with limited questioning and complexities
Some states like Chattisgarh have considered hiking the RTI fees to a substantial amount. This will lead to the objective of RTI being oppressed. Other states are also considering this as a measure to counter cross questioning from people who want to know respective govt's wealth, corruption charges, major monetary issues etc. so that the govt. can find it easier to snatch away the right to information from every Indian. Increment of RTI fees for every citizen is proposed for 20 times hike to rs. 500 while other states are thinking to hike it to 50 times. This surely make these corrupt politicians comfortable indirectly as their motive is to avoid questions that are linked to their character scrutiny and their plans to move bills which can extract maximum money from the commoner. I would like a bill which can restrict the fees of RTI to a small amount which anyone can pay and also to make RTI questionnaire simpler but strong so that these dirty politicians have a hard time always!
