Marriage registration
Am a Indian citizen married to a foreign national. We got married in Copenhagen, and want to register our marriage in India. For the same we visited the register of marriage in Mumbai, located at BKC Mumbai 3 times.
We have been provided varied answers from not required to register, don't know, and come after 1 week, by the lady concern.
All we want to know is:
1. Is there any clause under which marriage done in a foreign land can be registered in India.
2. If so, who does it and where ?
Can we file RTI for the same ?

If either of the spouse resides within the jurisdiction of the Registrar, he must register the marriage. Take it forward...

You may file RTI with SPIO of Office of Marriage Registrar General and seek certified copy of updated rules regarding such marriages and forms to be submitted with list of documents etc. You may refer:

give me the full detail of your problem.Following points needed:
1. Your religion and your wife's religion .
2. Under which Foreign Act did you marry.
3.Whether your wife renounced her religion at the time marriage.
