Minutes of DPC to be disclosed or not under RTI
i am working in postal department as inspector. i demanded minutes of DPC held for promotion from to IP to ASP. CPIO replied that the minutes of DPC is confidential in nature and also consist of the information of other officials, the disclosure of which has no relatioship to any public activity or interest. therefore, it is exempted from disclosure under sec 8(1)(j) of RTI act 2005. i want to prefer appleal. kindly impart assistance.

DPC Minutes are disclosable under RTI. There are several decisions on this. In some cases severing of some of the information might be required.Sponsorer

Go for 1st appeal u/s 19(1), praying FAA to disclose your information partially under severability (sec10).
AND/OR
If you have serious allegation of corruption, which involves larger public interest, you may pray for whole part of the information including 'file notings'.
The address of FAA must have been given by the PIO u/s 7(3)(b), in his reply itself.
Exercise your Right To get Information by holding Govt. accountable to the governed.
Preamble:"democracy requires an informed citizenry and transparency of information which are vital to its functioning and also to contain corruption and to hold Governments and their instrumentalities accountable to the governed".
