Pio did not return the fees paid by rti applicant.
Dear and Respected Members,
Very recently I have filed an RTI Application with a(STATE) PIO.
At the time of filing the RTI Application I have paid a fee of Rs.250/- vide Government Chalan.
The PIO has denied the information on several grounds and the said Chalan was not returned to me.
Now, please guide me,how to proceed further with PIO to get back my paid chalan.

You were wrong in remitting Rs.250 with RTI Appl itself .Sponsorer
If the Information has been wrongly denied , go upto IC in Appeals . IC may direct refund of excess amount .
Other than that you may write to HOD requesting refund of excess amount .

Hon'ble members. Whether denial of information can be equivalent to made available information. Information seeker pays the RTI fee to public authority in order to get information which is made available through PIO of public authority. In general processing of grievances/complaints is done by public authority without charging, as their obligatory duty. Here this question arises that when PIO rejects the RTI communique, then he must be oblized to returnback R.T.I. fee submitted to made available sought information.

It would be interesting to find through another RTI, in which head and account this money was credited and under whose official direction. You cannot just deposit the money in any govt account without a valid reason and office order.
