First the citizen has to file a first appeal with Appellate Authority who is a senior officer of the CPIO. If the citizen is aggrieved with the decision of the AA, he/she has to file second appeal with the CIC. Since the public authority is under central government, the applicant has no option of going to SIC. |

Mr. Damodaran Welcome to RTI India - Complete Online Community Portal for Right to Information For CPIO it is CIC & For SPIO it is SIC RTI procedure is : 1. RTI Application with Fee to PIO 2. If no reply/ not satisfied with reply in 30 (or 35 days in case of submission to APIO or under Section 6(3)), First Appeal to the First Appellate Authority (normally a officer higher than the PIO) 3. If no reply/ not satisfied with reply in 45 days to the First Appeal, then Second Appeal to the SIC/CIC (time period is 90 days) Possibly this info will be of good help to you regards |

Since you sought information from CPIO, you should go to CIC but you should follow the formalities of FA and then decide accordingly. |
