Commission serves notice to officer
Reported by Deccanherald.com on 14 June 2012
Commission serves notice to officer
An officer who denied information to an applicant under Right to Information Act has been served notice by the Information Commission.
However, from an outset it is found that the notice has been served due to the mistake committed by the applicant.
Salauddin from Bilagula had applied for certain information pertaining to title deed of a land at Balur hobli and also sought permission to view the documents.
Since Salauddin complained to the Commission that he has not been provided with the information that he had asked for, the Commission served a notice to the Tahshildar, who is also the Public Information Officer, directing the Tahshildar to appear for an inquiry.
The Tahshildar has responded to the Commission’s notice stating that he had replied to the query of Salauddin on 24-11-2011 itself, however, the applicant did not turn up to view the documents that he had asked for.
He was reminded to view the documents on 17-01-2012 again. The applicant has given false complaint to the Commission, the Tahshildar said.
