Disclosure of correspondence between theChief Justice of India and the Prime Minister regarding the proposed amendments to the Right to Information (RTI)Act has been allowed by CIC.

"we direct the CPIO to send to the Appellant within 10 working days of receiving this order the photocopy of the related file after severing all such information which, as per the provisions of section 8of the Right to Information
(RTI) Act, are required to be exempted. If the CPIO chooses to severe any of
the information/record contained in that file, he shall also pass a speaking order
stating clearly the provisions of the Right to Information(RTI) Act under which
the said records are not being disclosed. The other file is stated still to be
under submission to the higher authorities."
