CIC ordered HPCL to supply the list of commercial gas consumers with note that it would not set a precedent for future.

Ordinarily, I would have upheld the decision of the CPIO but in the peculiar facts
and circumstances of the case where the appellant has alleged corruption in the matter of
diversion of gas cylinders from domestic consumers to commercial consumers and also
considering the fact that Ramgarh is a small village and the numbers of commercial
consumers would not be very large, in my opinion, it would be in larger public interest to
disclose information regarding commercial consumers to the appellant. Ordered
accordingly.
5. This order may be complied with in 04 weeks time. It is, however, clarified that
it would not set a precedent for future.
