    No rules for police

    frnds,
i m from Karnal, Haryana and it has been noticed by me that in Karnal police is very strict and issuing challans to persons who are not adopting the Motor Vehicle Act i.e. not having RC, Insurance Certificate, Pollution Certificate. i had filed an application to and ask the certified copies of above mentioned documents of Police's own vehicles. but now the police has denied to provide the information on the plea that information is exempted under section 8(1)(a) of RTI Act. need your valuable comments in this regard. if any frnd have any judgement/Authority/Directions of HIGH/Supreme Court or any judgement/Authority/Directions State information, Haryana, Kindly provide.

    thanks....waiting ur comments....

    Re: No rules for police

Did the PIO explain as to how Sec 8(1)(a) is applicable in the present case ?

It has been disclosed hundreds of times by Police in other places. I think in Haryana also.

Please read some of the threads in the followings search results:

    https://www.google.co.in/search?rlz=...w.rtiindia.org

(NOTE: there are many pages of search results !)

This information is not deniable at all. No need for any citations. Just file a first appeal.
