Form of Information.
Respected Forum Members,
I requested some certified copies of documents under RTI Act 2005. CPIO replied that requested information is in 835 pages and asked to deposit Rs. 1670/-. I deposited Rs. 50/- and requested to provide information in CD/DVD in form of Soft copy. CPIO replied that he has already photocopied the requested info. and if I am intrested in getting the same I have to deposit Rs 1670/-.
Please give valuable guidance along with any related order of CIC.

After getting application the JOB of PIO is to calculate no. of pages. PIO cannot get the info copied without further payment from applicant.
In future while making application, clearly mention that you need info in soft copy or hard copy.

But what to do in the instant case. I am not in a position to invest Rs. 1670/- for the requested information. Please guide.
