Nomination of PIO to Chief Minister's Office

Please recollect our discussion on non-detailment of SPIO for certain Chief Minister's Office. As brought out, Kerala too had the same problem. But the General Administration Department of the Government Secretariate who is incidentally, the Nodal Agency for SIC tried to cover it up by replying that PIO of GAD, Government Secretariate is the PIO of Chief Minister's and Minister's Offices. This PIO on receipt of an RTI application used to transfer it to the concerned department. With such an arrangement, the cityzens had no means to crib.

When the GAD closed the issue with such a reply, an effort was made to end this ad-hoc arrangement by bombarding the GAD with inconvenient RTI applications meant to Chief Minister's and other Ministers Office with their strict persuation. The GAD seems fed up with this and at last started taking corrective action

To day they intimated me that 'Sri.CU Baby, Additional Secretary to Government is the SPIO of Chief Minister's Public Grievece Redcressal Cell. They have also intimated me that "suggestion of appointing/designating SPIOs in the Office of the Ministers is being examined"
