TDP to use RTI Act to expose government

Hyderabad, June 16: Telugu Desam Parliamentary Party (TDPP) leader K Yerran Naidu said on Friday that his party would seek recourse to the Right to Information Act (RTI) to expose the misdeeds of the ruling Congress in implementing welfare schemes such as housing.

Speaking to reporters here on Friday, he faulted Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy for criticising TDP leaders during his visit to North Andhra on Thursday.

“Let the government order a probe into the welfare programmes initiated during the TDP regime. If any leader found guilty, take action against him,” Yerran Naidu challenged.

TDP MP R Chandrasekhara Reddy alleged that the State was in the 22 place in utilising the funds in National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme among 27 States.

He alleged that Congress workers were pocketing the money earmarked for providing employment to the poor.
