Foreign ministry: Can’t disclose President’s inputs on foreign visits - The Times of India

NEW DELHI: The inputs given by the President while deciding the itinerary and duration of their foreign visits cannot be made public, the external affairs ministry has said in an RTI reply. A Lucknow-based RTI applicant had sought details of inputs given by President Pratibha Patil and ex- President APJ Abdul Kalam for all visits undertaken by them.

Saying the technicalities of such high level visits are thrashed out after exhaustive consultations with sensitive issues in mind, chief of protocol Ruchira Kamboj said that "copies of relevant correspondence cannot be disclosed under section 8(1)(a) of the RTI Act.
