Unanswered: Juridiction under RTI Act 2005

Hello Sir / Madam,

I had just listened from one of my friend that there is news in some good news paper that one of our High Courts gave a decision that private & unaided schools does not fall under RTI Act 2005. I am unable to trace the news on net. Please send me a link or date of publish and news paper for the same.

Thanks a lot

Harish Aggarwal

Re: Juridiction under RTI Act 2005

There is a ruling of the Madras High Court in the case if Diamond Jubilee Higher Secondary School (WP No.36901 0f 2006). Ofcourse this is just opposite of what u want. Here the Court has held that the Private School is bound to give the info since it is receiving substantial financial aid from the Govt and thus falling under the definition of Sec 2(h)(d)(ii)!
