Recently I went to Madras University to get my official transcript for MSc. Please follow the following procedure to get your transcript. Please note that the university working hours are 10 to 5.30…

• If you want to get transcript for Science stream follow this procedure. Go to the Madras University Chepauk Campus to get the transcript.
• To reach this place take a bus to Anna Square or you can take flying train and get down at chepauk. If by bus get down at the last stop whr on the bus stop its written as Anna Square.
• After getting down to the location ask for USAB (University Student Advisory Bureau) block (here you will get all the details regarding the fees and filling the form).
• After getting the form and details about how much to make a DD for, go to the any nationalized bank and make DD for the appropriate amount. Please note that as per the form it says 10 Rs per each copy means 10 Rs for each page. Please don’t get confused with this it is 10 Rs per page attestation charge. So if you have 4 pages you have to make DD of 4* 10 = Rs 40 DD.
• Please remember you should have your originals ready for verification as it is mandatory. Also meanwhile get the Xerox of the marksheet as well as the final degree certificate. Please make sure that everything is visible on the Xerox copy from top to bottom not a single lined is chucked off as it is subjected to get rejected from the foreign university if it is not the complete Xerox of your original. If the originals have written text or seal at its back do take that too (this is only for verification purpose so don’t count this as separate page and make a DD of this too. If your original have front and back text it is considered as one by the officers).
• Also get the same no of good quality A4 size envelopes so that they also get the seal from the registrar. After getting everything ready go to the DD block and submit the DD (a block whr all DD are collected, ask the security about it) along with your duly filled form. This will be than verified and the form will be sealed by the officer (you will get the form after say half an hour if they have more rush).
• After collecting the sealed form from the DD dept you need to go to the USAB again and submit your Xerox copy along with your duly signed application form. Also make your originals ready for cross check.
• After everything is cross checked they will start putting university seal on every page and than will take it the registrar for signature. This process will take maximum of one day if you start the process early in the morning say arnd 10 am. All the best hope everyone finds it usefull….
