TIPS FOR PIO UNDER RTI ACT 2005

Study RTI Act 2005 and rules applicable to your organization. Please ensure that sections which enjoin certain duties on you are complied with properly by your organization e.g. proactive disclosures u/s 4.1.b etc
Keep yourself updated with decisions of CIC/SIC by visiting their official websites at least once a week. Download important and relevant judgments.
Request your office-head to permit you to attend good training programmes/seminars on RTI.

If your ordinary application is long pending with any government dept or office or you are not getting satisfactory replies or action, or bribe is being demanded, you can lodge application under THE RIGHT TO INFORMATION ACT and ask for following information/papers

Kushal, let me clear one thing that what documents required for the inquiries into passport office , because last time when i visited the passport office ,lucknow they are asking that give all proofs of all documents what we are submitted up to now . But how is it possible that we have all profs of all documents . at present i have only file number what i got in police verification only . however i visited 10-15 times lucknow passport office . The RTI ACT came in to force on 15 june 2005 according 4 (Section 4)(1) a (1) b (ii) (ix) (xvii) Every public authority should with in one hundred and twenty days from the enactment of act shall furnish the following information on the internet

1) particulars of the organization
2) directory of its officers and employees
3) name and designation of PIO and appellate authority
4) and up date information every year
but most of the organization has never updated...
