    In the backdrop of Indian students rank 2nd last in global test, here are some shocking facts that were revealed by Education Department, Municipal Corporation of Delhi in reply to a RTI application filed by me.

    It reveals that:

    As on 31 Aug 2011 there are:

    (i) 1730 primary schools
    (ii) 33 Pre-Primary (Nursery) schools

    •Only 25 out of 140 schools in South zone have a telephone connection.
