Stop Victimisation of RTI Users
Posted 10-28-2008 at 12:39 AM by Dr. M. Faiyazuddin
The awareness about RTI is increasing day by day among the general masses but still very limited number of people are using it. Most of the people are afraid of using it because they apprehend victimisation. One of my friends is an officer in the regional office of a nationalised bank of India where he is forced to work from 10.00am to 09.00 pm. He brings files to his home on Sundays and holidays. And he is not paid any extra allowances for extra work. I suggested him to use RTI regarding the timing of office. He replied that he would be transferred to remote areas where he would not be able to educate his children.
The govt. should develop some mechanism so that people can use RTI without any fear of victimisation.

Sir , this a very serious problem which a RTi user is facing these days . People are afraid of asking information from police department . Sarpanch in village panchyat are so powerful that no peace loving person can dare to ask any thing from them. There should be law through which identity of the applicant should be kept secret.Posted 11-01-2008 at 09:45 PM by advocate rajesh
