  2. Proposed Amendmet to RTI Rules

    by , 12-16-2010 at 09:28 PM
On 09 07 2009 I wrote a blog entitled RTI Requires Amendment. I was very much hopeful that the Act will be amended to make it user friendly and bring more transparency in the system. But after one and a half years the proposed amendment has come to us in the most unfortunate manner. If amended in the proposed manner, it will be as good as keeping it into dustbin. Morning shows the day. The disappointment it has generated among the RTI users/Activists is matter of grave concern for the nation which ...

  3. RTI - Right Thinking Indians

    by , 09-20-2010 at 07:54 PM
Thinking in a right direction and then putting it to action should be the soul objective of mankind. RTI is for both--those who seek information as a right and those who provide it in its right perspective. I am quite confident that RTI will enable us mature, sincere, devoted and Right Thinking Indians. Undoubtedly, there are hazardous ways to achieve the desired goal but the emergence of Right Thinking Indians as we witness upon this portal is so rapid that future India looks bright and extremely ...
  4. School Education

    by , 09-16-2010 at 03:22 PM
Guiding formally the youngsters in a certain direction through teachers with a view to helping them learn is the sole objective of any school. Hence school, teachers and learning are in a way synonymous. The objective behind school is, therefore, to promote learning abilities among students instead of educating them only. Education is the higher form of learning; it’s an enlightening experience; it is to give intellectual, moral and social instruction; it is to train the brain and makes it aloft ...

  5. License for Using RTI ?

    by , 09-14-2010 at 03:55 PM
To deposit a sum of Rs 10/- as RTI fees is troublesome. If it is so necessary, an applicant shouild be able to pay it through Bank Debit Card so that on line RTI application can be filed. Today everybody has an ATM Card. It will save the time and money of speed post as well.

Or, the fees should go to one common account in India. The govt. can issue a license to use RTI for one or two years after taking a reasonable fees as is done by Railways from daily passengers. If it so happens,

  6. RS 25000/ fine under RTI is very low.

    by , 08-01-2010 at 08:42 PM
The maximum fine under RTI is Rs 25000/ which is an average salary of a UDC. This amount is so low that a PIO easily agrees to take risk and deny information. The fixed amount in this age meaningless. My suggestion in this regard is that one month salary or 25 days salary of a PIO should be taken, if fined by the CIC or SIC. In this way the amount of fine will be automatically raised with the enhancement in salary. If a PIO gets Rs 50000/ pm salary, he can take risk of Rs 25000/ but when he comes ...

  7. Past Criminals have become Builders

    by , 07-22-2010 at 10:00 PM
I would like to share my experiences about the builders in India. I have observed that the people of criminal background have become big builders in India. The business of Real State suits to their profession. After attaining an age when criminal activity is directly not possible, they shift to build apartments and flats. Our system is so conducive for them that they earn a big fortune here and innocent citizens become victims of these builders. These builders snatch away the life long savings of ...

  8. Terror of RTI

    by , 12-20-2009 at 09:00 PM
RTI has empowered common to question those officers who were earlier inaccessible to common man. There is no faer of earning the wrath of an officer. I asked a rude Principal of a govt. school about the facility provided to the students of the school. The school was running from 8.00 am to 3.00pm. The Principal himself was found counting the number of fans in each class rooms. The timing was changed from 8.00am to 1.45pm as soon as my application reached. Despite less punishment by the CIC terror ...

  9. Favourite Section of RTI Portal

    by , 12-20-2009 at 03:10 PM
    Dear friends,

One of my very learned friends suggested me to express my views on each and every section of this portal. I generally do it but the area which requires more attention is sometimes under my preference. I thought again and again to this suggestion. Do you consider it a worthy idea? It is like tasting all the menu instead of eating the favourite one.

    Thanks for your response.

  10. RTI after four years

    by , 10-14-2009 at 02:26 PM
Four year old journey of RTI is considerable. Undoubtedly the Act has a vast scope and better than several other equal acts of the world but has it succeeded completely in checking corruption in govt. sector ? Did it achieve its desired target? It is futile to expect that the act will make the country corruption free overnight. In a country which has about 25% population under BPL category and a large number of people centered ...
