It is very sad to say that the indian consulate in chicago is not responding to inquiries regarding india visa. After applying for OCI for my family, they dont give any response regarding the application. Their phonw line is always busy tone. i sent many emails , but no reply.
I would like to know how to contact them. why don't they have multiple lines in the office and why don't tehy respond.

Can info abt migrants in india be fetched from ministry of home affairs under rti?

i've heard in local news papers that some foreign natinalists are putting up in India for more than a decade now. Do we under RTI have a right to know why action is not taken against those people. And if they have been given extended visas what are there rights?

I want to know about the proposed plan to clean up the water ways in Chennai, particularly the Arumbakkam canal that runs across 100 ft Road through Choolai medu. It is a polluted canal and a month some cleaning was seen around this area. I hear that it may be covered fully or partially and converted into a road shortly. Is this correct. I propose to move into a new house adjoining this and would be thankful to anyone who can furnish any info on this

I have been an employee of Satyam Computers from March 2007 till Oct0ber 2009. I left the company and joined HCL Tech in NOIDA in the month of October 2010. I submitted papers for transfer to my new company (HCL) at the time of joining. I thought I should warn anyone what to expect going to this place for vaccination. i had a very good file inspection at the central railway work shop matunga Mumbai today at 1030hours the files were shown when it became clear i was searching for the letters mainly to verify the issue they helped me and initially they tried to fob me of by inserting the photocopy which i had but relented when i showed them the numbering on my copy and destroyed the same and then traced the letter to some other file and agreed that there was discrepancy by the officer issuing the same ...

i applied to PIO, Mumbai for information of my Income Tax Assessment details and refund for AY 07-08 using the sample draft available for income tax refund on this site.

The PIO refused the information under section 8(1)(j). I made an appeal sighting a case no. 515/IC/(A)/07 dt. 05/03/07 of J.P.Sharma Mumbai, by CIT II Bangalore where the personal information was denied to an authorised person.

My appeal was also rejected without sighting any reason.
