Spiralling woes of nuclear families

Inflation is a much talked about subject and all Indians are finding it more and more difficult to plan any new venture apart from the usual.
Children are the most hurt by the situation. Most families are of the nuclear type. Both parents forced to work to provide the best for their children sadly leave out on the one most desired by the kids i.e., affectionate attention.
Having limited time with children, parents try to avoid friction by giving in to all demands of children who grow up to be bossy and incompassionate unwilling to part with the least freedom or right. Most children are bent to claim their rights totally forgetting their duties. Kerala judiciary gave a landmark judgement in a case favouring the couple who cared for an aged ailing widower. The old man was left to fend for himself by his son and daughter-in-law but filed a suit to claim the property that he bequeathed to the poor couple. This is a faulty situation and all grown-ups need to realise that they must make amends and find ways to sit and talk with the youngsters to ease out tensions that keep building up.
How will the generation gap be filled is anybody's guess but we need to make an effort before we can expect any measure of success.
