Though its not specified in RTI Act to send reminders to PIO / FAA to respond, it would justify/strengthen our position in Second Appeal / Complaint, and could avoid/mitigate the chance of remanding the appeal back to FA for decision.

Things to Quote in RTI Application
1) As per section 6(3) of the RTI Act 2005, In case, the requested information is held by another public authority, I request the PIO to transfer the application or part of it within FIVE days and immediately inform me about such transfer.
2) As per section 7(3) of the RTI Act 2005, In case, there are further fee required to provide the requested information, I request the PIO to inform me of the additional fee amount along with the calculations ...

RTI Act in its present form is mighty enough to make the Govt. Offices accountable for what they do and ensure transparency. The only missing piece is a mechanism to execute the processing of RTI Application.

In many cases the ego of the PIO and FAA, makes them resistant to comply with the RTI act. In some cases the RTI Applicants are attacked for asking such and such information... There is no success story of an RTI application against Police Department; instead we get threat calls ...
