I am not able to check EPF balance on-line for the state of haryana (Gurgaon).Can you help me out.

As far as I know Pune office does not provide this facility on-line. You have to approach EPF office pune by post. But you must be having your annual account statement. If not or if that doesnot pertain to the year 2007-08 you may file an RTI application with the EPF office, Pune why the issue of the statement is delayed, who is responsible for the same, what action has been taken against him, when will it be issued etc.

WB EPF office also does not have such facility. Hence you may refer to my post dt 12/09/08 above. The same holds good for your case also.

Hi thanks a lot for the reply. While i have few other queries like my PF has been submitted on 1 Dec 2008 so according to rules, it will take 30 days time to deliver the amount to your account.

1. Will i take more than 30 days in normal case, as i am seeing lots of complaint againt PF office at Nehru Place, New Delhi. My friend who applied three month back is also waiting for his claim.

2. Shall i go for an RTI application, if i am not going to get this within 30 day or wait for some more days.

3. Do they entertain any query through phone? If so any such contact no there.

I can only sympathise with you. Yes, they are definitely going to take more than one month despite the law that if the claim is not settled within 30 days the RPFC has to pay the interest from his pocket (see my blog for details). Wait for 30 days and then file an RTI application. That should be worded suitably to book the culprits. Thirdly, it is common knowledge that Govt telephones are used more for personal gossip than for answering distress calls from the public!!!

Mr Suryakant Tathe, I dont think Bandra office has the facility for on-line checking of EPF balance.

In the website of EPFO under the section "Guide for information seekers" the following is mentioned:
Fee for Seeking Information
14. The applicant, along with the application, should send a demand draft or a banker's cheque or an Indian Postal Order of Rs.IO/-(Rupees ten), payable to the Accounts Officer of the public authority as fee prescribed for seeking infonnation.
Secondly, you need not send any additional amount for receiving the reply by Regd Post. Simply request them to do so. If additional amount is required they will ask you. Then only you pay.

If you have the records you can do so. Your pay slips may be showing your contribution as well as the contribution of your employer. That can be added yearwise and the yearly interest declared may also be added to it. There is some difficulty in doing such a self calculation. While your entire contribution goes to the EPF account, only a portion of the employer's contribution goes to the EPF account. The remaining portion goes to your account under the Employees Pension Scheme. I am thinking of writing a separate blog on the EPS.

Though generally it is probable that a company is covered by the PF office of the State where the company is located, it is not always so. Sometimes, the company may be covered by the PF office of the State where the Headquarters or Main office of the company is situated eventhough the major activities of the company may be in some other state. The best way to know which PF office maintains the EPF account of a company is to look at the EPF number allotted to the company. This will be shown in the annual accounts statement of EPF given to you. For example, if the number is something like AP/Hyd/12345/7890, the first two alphabets indicate the State Andhra Pradesh, the second alphabetical portion indicates Hyderabad in AP, the third portion which is numeric, indicates the code number of the company covered and the last number portion indicates the employee's EPF account number. Each State has at least one regional office and several sub-regional offices in the EPFO.

The sub-Regional Office Vashi, has a link - http://www.epfovashi.gov.in/member.htm. That does not work.

Pune PF office showing online PF account balance is very useful for their PF members . All other PF offices should to available online account balance to their PF members.

You can complain to the RPFC, Coimbatore that you have not got the EPF slip for the last 5 years. It is highly unlikely that the EPFO has not issued the account slips for the last five years. If you did not get the slip there may be other reasons. Please make a complaint to the RPFC Coimbatore, wait for a while - if you dont get a response file an application under RTI to know the action taken on your complaint. That will work.

If you have gone through the main contents of this blog, you would have observed that some of the EPF offices have the facillity for the subscribers to know the balance as on the month of March in the current year. There is no way to know the up-to-date accurate balance. You have to calcul- ate that yourself. Almost all websites of the EPFoffices provide the facility of knowing the claim status. The main site of the EPFO also has this facility, which provides info for accounts maintained at all offices including Thane.

Some more details are required to answer your query. When d id you join the present company? To which period the current PF slip belongs to? Did you work anywhere else before joining the present co.? If so, were you subscribing to EPF there and got it transferred to the present account?

What is the time limit wherein a co-op housing society can recover transfer fee from the transferee if it is not paid?

Is there any way to find the claim status of PF for Delhi region? I have submitted my claim in May 2008 and not received any authenticated information. Whenever enquired the answer was "it is under process". The link for finding the claim status is not working in the EPFO website. Kindly help me.

How old is your claim? If it is less than one month, you may wait until 30days are over. If it is more than 30 days old and you have not heard anything you can file an application under RTI. For this you may consult the blog - http://www.rtiindia.org/forum/blogs/...rough-rti.html

Hello!Can anyone please help me in checking my PF status which is under the Hyderabad Regional Office?Neither I could find any site nor any telephone calls are answered.Though I know that my papers have already gone for processing in Nov 2008 but I do not see any response from the PF office yet.Waiting for a positive response.

Hyderabad EPF Office does not have an online checking facility of the pending claims. But since your claim is pending for more than 10 months, you should immediately file a complaint to the Regional Provident Fund Commissioner, Hyderabad asking for settling the claim immediately. Wait for a reasonable time. If the claim is not settled even within this reasonable period of say, a month, please file an application under RTI.
