Scam | A scam worth Rs 60 crore was recently unearthed in the UP Seed Development Corporation. The corporation was supposed to distribute seeds free of cost to the farmers but investigations revealed that officers pocketed the money by showing fictitious names of beneficiaries on papers. A farmer, who was deprived of the benefits of the department, exposed the fraud by using the RTI Act. More than two lakh quintal of seeds of wheat, which were supposed to be given to the farmers free of cost, were sold to black marketers.
