You have done no wrong, and intend doing no wrong by seeking information. So why worry at all? If you get the passport from one office, you can inform the other office about it, and close the matter there.; What you need is the passport, as early as possible. So just go ahead and file the RTI applications at both places. I am quite hopeful that it will get you the passport one way or the other.

thanks for ur reply,What I want to get suggestion from you is that I have closed my passport application file from Ranchi PO after I didn't got any response from them even months after police verification,my file status on the website said police verification not received,so i closed my file this month(I did not had idea about RTI at that time).

My question is can I file RTI now ,may be they can reopen my file and I will get my passport .This sounds somewhat weird but will it work,pls suggest so that I can proceed,and I dont want to get into the pain of reapplying.
