Thank you for your reply. But is there any possibility that PIO rejects my Application under life or liberty, which I come to know only after a few days? If so, then I would be wasting so much of extra time. Please reply.

  8. can pio fix a particular amount of cost instead of rs 2 per page for providing information

i have filed a rti to particular organization , in reply pio said that they have fixed cost of required information as rs 10,000 .
but the required information is less than 100 pages = rs 200 only.

pio is saying that they will use this money for welfare of public and pateints.

is this all stuff possible or legal under rti cat-2005.

is there any order of information commission against this ????
sir , the size of paper is A4.

sir, i am going to file first appeal in this case.
is there any order of information commission in this regard.?/?

or can i quote some sections from the rti act manual against this?

how the question should be framed in this regard to challenge these details of pio?

    warm regards

Destroyed Record

by jps50 on 11-04-2012 at 07:17 PM
Many times, PIO casually replies that record has been destroyed or weeded out by referring to record retention schedule of public authority. In fact the record may not have been actually destroyed despite lapse of specified retention period. In most of cases, record is destroyed after a very long time of expiry of period stated in record retention schedule. For example if a register in a bank is required to be retained say for 5 years from date of last entry, but in practice it is destroyed after
