MAHARASHTRA RIGHT TO INFORMATION RULES 2005
The rules provide for a format for application under RTI Act called Annexture A which is appended at column No.9 below.
A. Application fee: Rs.10/- to be paid by IPO or bank’s demand draft or banker’s cheque in favour of public authority from whom information is sought or in cash at the concerned office against receipt or by affixing court fee stamp. Applicants holding BPL certificate need not pay any application fee. Court fee stamps are available with stamp vendors or advocates. Court fee stamp is the best way of paying application fee, unless you are filing from other state.
B. Other charges: Information in A-3 or A-4 size paper….Rs.2/- per page, Large size: actual cost, publications: actual cost. CD Rs.50/- per CD. Postal charges are extra, unless collected in person. If govt has fixed charges for documents/maps etc, then such charges are payable.
Actual Inspection: Rs.5/- each 15 minutes or part thereof with first hour free.
Other charges are payable by bank’s demand draft or banker’s cheque or money order in favour of public authority from whom information is sought or in cash at the concerned office against receipt.
Rules provide for format for first appeal [Annexture-B]. For second appeal annexture-C is prescribed. Appellant has to affix court fee stamp of Rs.20/- for first and second appeal. 7. Imp note: You have to confine to one subject per RTI application and queries should not exceed 150 words. You can file additional RTI applications on same subject, if queries exceed 150 words and mail in one envelope to save postal charges

On 16 and 30 Jan 2012, Maharashtra amended its RTI Rules and allowed:
1. Each RTI application of only 150 words
2. Each RTI application restricted to one subject matter only
3. Applicant can only carry pencil during inspection
