Article: Sikkim High Court RTI Rules and Fees

Application Fee and Mode of Payment

• Application has to be made in Form A (preferably) specified in the Rules
• Application fee is Rs. 100.00
• Mode of payment is by Cash deposit (Bank Receipt) in State Bank of Sikkim under the major Head: 0070-01-501-RTI Fee
• No fees payable by BPL category provided a attested copy of the BPL card is attached to the application
• If application is by electronic means, payment of application fee can be by Money Order / Cheque / Demand Draft, to be sent within 7 days of filing RTI application

RTI Application to contain the following details:

• Name of Applicant
• Fathers Name
• Permanent Address of applicant
• Documentary proof of being a Citizen – see attached rules for valid documents
• Address to which information has to be sent
• Date
• Subject matter of information

Additional Fees

• Fixed price where the information is available in the form of a publication.
• Actual cost of photocopying for extracts from Publications
• Actual Cost of CD Rom or Floppy
• If information has to be supplied by Post, the actual Postal Charges

First Appeal

• First appeal has to be made in Form E specified in the Rules
• Fee of Rs 100 for first appeal payable by cash deposit in State Bank of Sikkim
• Second Appeal to the SIC also has to be accompanied by a Rs. 100.00 fee
