Vadodara, June 27: VADODARA Municipal Corporation has officially admitted that it has no details of contour map of the roads and stormwater drains in the city, nor details of water bodies in a reply to an RTI application by city based activist.

At the same time on Wednesday, there was a presentation at VMC by experts to senior officials to prepare such a detailed contour map for the civic body.

It was following an RTI application by Rohit Prajapati, who sought details of a contour map, detailing roads, water bodies, stormwater network and even the status of water bodies in the state, that VMC’s stormwater project department replied saying that such a data was not available with the civic body.

Though the civic body replied that a map of stormwater master plan was present which was prepared by consultants A I C Watson in 2002.

According to Prajapati, the lack of details only indicated that much of civic work was not happening properly in the city.

But a senior official on grounds of anonymity said that such a detailed contour map was not available with most civic bodies.

Meanwhile on Wednesday, a presentation was made to senior officials including Municipal Commissioner M K Das by private experts who offered to prepare contour maps through geoinformatics system.

Das later said that the civic body is contemplating to get such details prepared.
