Thread: need advice

  1. need advice

    HI

I filed a application at commisssionerate of Panchayat Raj ,Andrapradesh, requesting information about my village panchyat accounts.
The commessionerate, promptly ( 30 days) has directed the district panchayat raj officials ,to provide me with the info straight away.
Now total of 60 days have elapased ,since the filing of application. I still don't have the requested information
What should my next step be
    1) Should I complain to commisenarate about district panchyat raj officials
    or
    2) Should I cpmlain to State Information commission

I tried to Email Mr Arha who is the state iformation commissioner for AP. Guess what ! the server didnt accept the email
Advice from members would be much appreciated

    Many thanks

    Prabhakar,

    1. The Commissionerate of Panchayati Raj and the district Panchayati Raj
officers belong to the same "Public Authority", as defined in the RTI
    Act.
The PIO should not have "transferred" your application.
He is supposed to collect the information himself and provide it to
    you.

    2. The PIO cannot "direct" anyone else to give information.
The information has to be collected by him, given by him, as well as
given by him under his own signature.

These two issues were faced by me and have been exhaustively dealt in the thread:

    3. I am afraid that the APSIC does not work very well.
I have had very poor experiences with them.
    Please read:

Karira has already replied to most of your queries in his usual remarkable fashion. Karira was also fast in the replies.

So I can touch only the case of the email to SIC that bounched. Maybe the box was full. If bounches the 2nd time, please print out the email, giving the error message and send it along with your complain letter to the SIC in Hyderabad.

    hi buddy.
You better and never wait beyond 45 days and thereafter u just file and appeal through nearest post office. Because as of now RTI is a tiger but yet to acquire teeth and promptness in catching its prey.
