Re: Is President of India under the rti proceed

    HI Abhi,
As Kaushal has rightly said there are no special provisions for Presidents or Governors . Because RTI is meant for disclosure of virtually every information kept by any Public Authority provided this PA is not covered under Sec 24(second schedule) . There also discussions are on to remove DRDO for most of information kept by it.

Re: Is President of India under the rti proceed

The President is not covered under RTI 2005.
The President is not a Public Authority (PA) as defined in the RTI Act.

However, the President's Secretariat (commonly referred to as Rashtrapati Bhawan) is covered under RTI.

The details of the APIO/PIO/AA can be got from:

    RTI C O N T A C T U S

(Abhinav, you will be very happy to know, that as per above, Dr Kalam is still our President)

It will also be interesting for some readers to see the details provided by the President's Secretariat under Section 4 of the Act:

There have been many instances of RTI applications being made to the President's Secretariat, including some high profile cases:

    1. Exchange of letters between President Narayanan and PM Vajpayee
    2. Disclosure of letters of support given by UPA allies to Congress
at the time of formation of the present Government
    3. How many cars with red beacons does the President's Secretariat
    have ?

    and many many more !
