Karnataka sub-registrar assaults RTI activist with shoe
A sub-registrar (Revenue Department), who lost his cool on Thursday, assaulted a RTI activist with his shoe and stones in front of his home in Bengaluru leading to a commotion. The entire act was caught on camera of local TV channels while assaulting the RTI activist.
T Gopalakrishna, the sub-registrar, alleged that the RTI activist Venugopal was trying to extort money by using pressure tactics. It is alleged that Venugopal filed a RTI application seeking to know property ownership details of the sub-registrar. When he found out that Gopalakrishna owned a house, which was built by encroaching upon 210 sqft of government-owned land in Nagarabhavi, he brought the matter to the notice of the authorities concerned.Read more at;
