Kurnool: A corrupt official sanctioned a house to none other than chief minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy under the much-touted Indiramma scheme in Laddagiri, the native village of former CM Kotla Vijayabhaskar Reddy in Kurnool district.
The villagers of Laddagiri, who were vexed with the corrupt officials’ attitude in sanctioning Indiramma houses, got three houses sanctioned in the names of YSR, minister M Mareppa, local MLA M Sikhamani and film actor Akkineni Nagarjuna, to project the corrupt practices of the officials. The chief minister recently inaugurated the houses constructed under Indiramma first phase in Dhone constituency. In a meeting held in Kadapa two days ago, the CM challenged that he would pay Rs 1,000 if any one proves corruption charges in sanctioning Indiramma houses.
The villagers of Laddagiri lodged several complaints with top officials over the local officers’ corruption since they were demanding Rs 5,000 to Rs 10,000 for each house under the scheme. After getting the houses sanctioned for the four top personalities, villagers got the release order of cash and cement from the village secretary, claiming that the construction of houses are completed to basement level. The chief minister got Rs 17,500 and 40 bags of cement, minister Mareppa got Rs 7,500 and 30 bags of cement, MLA Sikhamani got Rs 9,500 and 40 bags of cement while Nagarjuna got Rs 16,500 and 30 bags of cement. All the four names have some fake bank account numbers in the release orders.
