    I visited District Consumer Redressal Forum , Delhi

    So , thought to share
    Procedure of filing Consumer Complaint step wise step (of Delhi ).

    1. Write Application /Petition in any simple format on A4 Paper typed or Hand written but matter should be only on side of the page(No Fixed Format advised ).

    2. Then get an Affidavit typed on A4 paper plain paper (NO STAMP Required ) , certified by Notary regarding applicant details.

    3. After it , Get Application & Affidavit checked by Consumer Redressal office staff.

    4. Then, purchase Rs.100 POSTAL ORDER as Court Fees. Only Postal Orders are accepted at Delhi Consumer Court (Central Delhi).
    (Total Value Of Goods OR Services & The Compensation Claimed Upto ONE LAKH RUPEES – For Complainants other than Antyodaya Anna Yojna Card Holders Payment of Rs.100)

    5. Make 5 Set (photocopy)of Application/Petition & 4 set of Notary Certified Affidavit.

    6. From these Keep 1 copy with original affidavit & Postal order in a File cover .

    7. Present all 5 sets at MEDIATION CENTRE located in same building , there they will check the application & issue a date(hand to hand) for Mediation hearing (date within a month or little more) & they will keep 2 sets of application with them.

    Note: Mediation Hearing is Mandatory in District Consumer Redressal Forum , Delhi before proceeding for case.
    For, Mediation Hearing a Notice is issued to Opposite party & they are called for Mediation with the Applicant.

    8. After it ,Submit rest 3 sets in office of District Consumer Redressal Forum( with 1 set along with original affidavit & postal order in a file).

    9. District Consumer Redressal Forum office staff will note the date of Mediation Hearing & issue a date of few days/weeks later for admission hearing of case .

    10. Appear on the day of Mediation & what ever is the result , applicant have to inform in Consumer Redressal Forum office.

    Then , they will direct accordingly.

    Rules and regulations may differ from state to state. As there is no meditation and notarizing affidavit in other forums. The fee depends on the value of remedies sought. The prescribed mode of remitting fees is also Bankers demand draft or pay order. There is no need to file complaints in person, it can also be filed through post also. Before filing consumer, issuing a registered notice is mandatory. There is limitation period of 2 years from cause of action and issuing notice also comes under cause of action. The limitation period commences from date of such rejection/denial by opposite party. Those who paid consideration for any services can file complaint if there is deficiency of services. Payment of consideration and deficiency of such service should be established. The suit is summary in nature and must be decided maximum within one year normally. Complainants should also provide envelope with adequate postage addressed to other party and enclose this to complaint.
