    Queries to TNEB

I appreciate/thank RTI INDIA for this wonderful site.

I would like to get an information for the following queries from
    State Assistant Public Information Officer
    Administrative officer,
    Administrative branch,

    Queries are:

Please provide me the detailed information on the following queries
    1. Number of days required for Tamil Nadu Electricity Board for permanent disconnection of the services and removal of the meters from the premises after submitting the applications

    2. the documents required to attach with the application for permanent disconnection of service/meter

    3. may customer insist to check the condition of meter (whether it's working or not) on the premises itself and get the confirmation from TNEB official before allowing them for permanent disconnection of the meters?

    4. Any rules/laws/regulations/authorities for "The Divisional Engineer", TNEB to refuse to accept the registered post from a customer (In my case, it has been refused... evidence attached)

    5. Any rules/laws/regulations/authorities for "The Assistant Engineer", TNEB for not to claim the registered post addressed to "The Assistant Engineer", TNEB (In my case, the Registered post has been returned as "NOT CLAIMED... evidence attached)

Any thoughts about appropriately phrasing the sentences? Am I entitled to raise these questions under RTI Act? Should I sent it to different PIO other than mentioned above?

    Thank you for the answers,

For items 3 , 4 and 5 ask for "certified Copies" of rules and regulations....
Item 2 should be "Complete list of documents...
Why are you addressing to the SAPIO ? Address the application to the SPIO and send/submit it directly to him.

I tried to buy a "non-judicial court fee stamp" for Rs.10 from various stamp vendor/small shop but they could offer only court fee stamp. Should I affix this with the application? or a "non-judicial court fee stamp" is different from a "court fee stamp"?

    Re: Queries to TNEB

Hi snkmoorthy, I did affix the COURT FEE STAMP for the value of Rs.10 after seeing your post. It looks like the same type of stamp ('manu stamp' in tamil) will be used in almost all application in Municipality/government offices.

Electricity Boards & other Licensees, under the Electricity Act 2003, are supposed to follow the Regulations laid down by the State Electricity Regulatory Commissions (State ERCs).

The TNERC's website is here (TAMIL NADU ELECTRICITY REGULATORY COMMISSION) and lists out the various Regulations that TNEB would be required to follow.
