    In Pinjab, even the PIO is allowed to be represented by a authorised representative in front of the SIC !
    Please see:

    CC No: 578-of 2007 of Punjab SIC

    “ - - -the PIOs were required to attend personally or through an authorised officer not below the rank of A.P.I.O. who should be well conversant with the facts of the case and his statement of facts will be treated as if it is given by you and you will be responsible for its correctness. In case, no appearance is made on your behalf, the case will be decided in your absence. The PIO is directed to carry a copy of Right to Information Act, 2005, with him for facility of reference.” <o></o>

    In West Bengal, even the First AA is allowed to be represented:

    The part on the WB SIC allowing the company to represent is not in good taste. This would dilute the provisions of the Act.

    I guess, this would have to be explored and see if a protest can be lodged with the appropriate government.
