  1. Another Dharna by Anna Hazare for RTI

NEW DELHI: Social activist Anna Hazare has decided to sit on dharna at Rajghat from January 1 to protest non-implementation of the Right to Information Act.

In a letter to Congress president Sonia Gandhi, the veteran Gandhian said that though the legislation had been enacted at her initiative neither the Centre nor the state governments had shown any interest in creating awareness about the Act.

"Those in the government are not only dragging their feet but are generally seen sabotaging it,"he wrote. Hazare said the government deliberately ignored the most crucial provision in the law about disclosure of routine information by all public authorities.

"This confirms their disdain for the provisions of the Act, the draft of which was prepared under your leadership,"he wrote.
